Amanda Contreras and her sons, Christian and Anthony, take part in the ceremonial groundbreaking June 16.  The Contreras family will soon call West Summit Avenue "home".  The boys earn sweat equity hours by picking up trash at the end of construction workdays and for semester A's and B's on their report cards.

Sarah Smith (left), an elder at Elkton Presbyterian Church led the litany at the ground breaking ceremony. In addition Sarah's arrival is always anticipated at the construction site.  She brings fresh water and snacks to the construction workers every morning.

Rick Davis, construction supervisor at the Elkton project, typically arrives at the job site between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. to take advantage of the cooler morning hours.
