Suter Street Housing Development

A New Development Project

This project represents a new and unique partnership between a private developer, and Central Valley Habitat for Humanity. This partnership is intended to address the need for affordable housing in our area. Upon completion this development will provide 21 homes.

10 of the homes will be developed by the private developer and sold at a price that will be in bottom of the market for housing in Harrisonburg. The target group for these units will be the ALICE population.

The other 11 of the units will be built using the traditional Habitat model. We will use volunteers, grants, and other funding sources to sell the homes to families that are below 60% of the AMI. We have extensive partnerships in the construction and volunteer community that allow us to provide homes at 35% below the appraisal rate.

We hope this new project will help more families in need in our community.
